For Salmon Roe Sushi

  • 2 tablespoons Salmon roe Fresh salmon roe or ikura for best quality.
  • 1 cup Sushi rice Cooked and seasoned with rice vinegar.
  • 2 sheets Nori seaweed For wrapping sushi.
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce For dipping.
  • 1 tablespoon Wasabi For additional flavor, optional.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Prepare sushi rice according to package instructions and let it cool.
  • Place a sheet of nori on a bamboo sushi mat.
  • Spread a thin layer of sushi rice evenly over the nori, leaving the top edge of the nori free.
  • Place salmon roe along the center of the rice.
  • Carefully roll the mat away from you, pressing gently but firmly to shape the sushi.
  • Seal the edge of the nori with a little water to ensure it stays closed.
  • Slice the roll into bite-sized pieces.
  • Serve with soy sauce and wasabi on the side.
