For Seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon Salt To taste

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) if baking.
  • Season the salmon fillets with salt, pepper, and lemon zest.

Cooking

  • For baking, place fillets on a lined baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes.
  • For pan-searing, heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook skin-side down for 3-4 minutes, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  • For grilling, cook for 6-8 minutes on one side and then 4-6 minutes on the other side.
  • For poaching, gently place the fillets in water or broth and poach for 10-15 minutes until fully opaque.

Notes

Always check the salmon for doneness using a fork, looking for flaking texture, opaque color, and an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C). Let salmon rest for 2-3 minutes after cooking to redistribute juices.
