Magic Rainbow Ice
A creative and colorful activity that allows children to make vibrant rainbow-colored ice for imaginative play and sensory experiences.
Ingredients
For the colorful ice
- 4 cups Water Use filtered water for best results.
- 1 bottle Food coloring (various colors) Choose safe, non-toxic food coloring.
- 1 set Ice cube trays or silicone molds Opt for fun shapes to make colorful ice.
Instructions
Preparation
- Gather all your materials on a flat surface.
Mixing Colors
- In a mixing bowl, add water and a few drops of your chosen food coloring. Stir until combined.
Filling the Trays
- Pour the colored water into the ice cube trays or silicone molds, filling each about three-quarters full.
Freezing
- Place the trays in the freezer for at least 4-6 hours or until solid.
Removing the Ice
- Remove the trays from the freezer. If needed, run warm water over the bottom to help release the ice.
Create a Display
- Arrange the colorful ice pieces on a tray or container.
Notes
Encourage children to engage in imaginative play with the colorful ice cubes or conduct melting experiments. Store leftover ice cubes in a freezer-safe container.
