  • Wash strawberries gently under cold water and pat them dry with a clean towel.
  • Remove the green tops and prepare for freezing, either whole, halved, or sliced.

Freezing Methods

  • For whole strawberries, spread them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze for 2-3 hours before transferring to a freezer bag.
  • For sliced or halved strawberries, prepare as above but slice them before freezing.
  • For strawberries with sugar, mix sliced strawberries with sugar and let sit until syrup forms, then freeze.
  • For freezing in syrup, dissolve 1 cup of sugar in 2 cups of water, pour it over the strawberries in a container, ensure they're submerged, and freeze.

Storage Tips

  • Label containers with freezing date to keep track of freshness.
  • Avoid overcrowding; freeze in a single layer first.
  • Ensure strawberries are completely dry before freezing to prevent ice crystals.

Notes

Frozen strawberries can last up to 12 months, but using them within 6 months ensures the best quality. Always look out for freezer burn or off smells before use.
