Dinosaur Egg Fizz

Ingredients
  

Main ingredients

  • 1 cup Baking soda
  • 1/2 cup Vinegar For activation
  • 1-2 tbsp Water To mix with food coloring
  • Food coloring Optional, for color
  • Egg-shaped silicone mold or plastic egg halves For forming the eggs
  • Plastic tray For easier cleanup
  • Small plastic dinosaurs Optional, for added immersion
  • Glitter or confetti Optional, for decoration

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the baking soda and any desired glitter or confetti.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the water and food coloring (if using) to create a colorful solution.
  • Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and mix continuously until a dough-like consistency is reached.
  • Firmly pack the mixture into your egg-shaped molds or fill one half of plastic eggs and press the other half on top.
  • Allow the dinosaur eggs to dry for at least 24 hours or bake on low heat (about 200°F) for 15-20 minutes.

Fizzing Fun

  • Once dried, remove the eggs from the molds. To activate, place them in a tray and pour vinegar over the top.

Notes

Cover tables with newspaper or a plastic tablecloth. Engage different age groups by allowing younger kids to get help. Anticipate messes and keep cleaning supplies ready.
