Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients, mixing until a smooth dough forms.
- Divide the dough into portions, depending on the number of colors you want to use.
- Add a small amount of food coloring to each portion and knead until the color is evenly distributed.
- For a marbled or tie-dye effect, gently roll different colored doughs together without overmixing.
- Shape the dough into balls or roll it out and use cookie cutters for fun shapes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place cookies on the baking sheet, leaving space between them. If desired, decorate with sprinkles.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
