Description
Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and coated in cinnamon sugar, this Churro Stuffed French Toast is the ultimate sweet breakfast treat.
Ingredients
8 slices of thick-cut brioche bread
4 large eggs
1 cup whole milk
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
In a shallow bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon.
In another bowl, whisk the eggs and milk.
Dip each slice of brioche into the egg mixture.
Place cinnamon sugar in the center of 4 slices, then top with the remaining slices to form sandwiches.
Brush skillet with melted butter and cook sandwiches for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
Roll warm sandwiches in remaining cinnamon sugar.
Serve hot with maple syrup or honey if desired.
Notes
For an extra indulgent version, try stuffing with cream cheese or Nutella before cooking
